Chiropractor Jim Carey - Echoes from Home

Echoes from Home, an historically edited novel, tells a story of the Civil War first hand through the eyes of a young confederate soldier named Joshua Miller. The novel follows him through letters and narrative of his leaving home, the battlefield, his friendships, and his loved ones waiting for him to return.

Dr. Jim Carey started his professional path as a social worker then a chiropractor, harboring a passion for writing for 20 years. Describing himself as a story teller, he originally planned to write a general Civil War novel with battles, dates and historical names. Early in the process he developed the main character Joshua Miller and transformed the story using the war as a backdrop for the young soldier’s adventure. Dr. Carey’s next literary project will be a collection of stories about the Civil War, tentatively entitled The High Price of Freedom.

Dr. Carey graduated in 1986 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. He has maintained a private practice in Sheboygan Wisconsin for 25 years. He currently shares his professional time between his chiropractic practice and his writing.

The book is available at Book World at Memorial Mall in Sheyboygan, Amazon or from the author.
