New President of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs

Dr. Clay McDonald, a 1982 Logan Graduate, makes the move to President of Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs from his previous position as Provost of Texas Chiropractic College. He will assume the position on March 1st upon the retirement of Dr. George Goodman after 20 years in the position. Dr. McDonald education and experience at three Chiropractic Colleges offers an unique for the University. After eight years in private practice he joined Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa in 1990 as a faculty clinician and progressing to the positions of Dean of Clinics and Special Advisor to the President. While on staff at Palmer Dr. McDonald earned his MBA Emphasis in Healthcare Administration from St. Ambrose University.After Palmer Dr. Clay McDonald attended law school at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana earning a law degree and certificates in Healthcare and Elder Law & Alternative Dispute Resolution. He returned to Chiropractic education in 2002 as the Dean of Academic Affairs at New York Chiropractic College and then the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs. While in the position he developed the Master of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition, Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging and Bachelor of Professional Studies degrees. He returned to Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2007 as Assistant Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Development & Chief Compliance Officer leading the multi-campus strategic planning and creating the Office for Institutional Compliance. In 2010 he left Palmer again to accept his latest Chiropractic academic position as Provost and Senior Vice President of Texas Chiropractic College for the last 3 years.  In a statement, from Logan College of Chiropractic Dr. Clay McDonald stated "I am humbled by the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Logan's past leaders,. As an educator and Logan alumnus, I look forward to returning to the University as it prepares new generations of chiropractors to serve the communities and build on Logan’s outstanding legacy."  Dr. George A. Goodman has presided over Logan for more than 20 years. Prior to serving as President of Logan, Dr. Goodman held the position of Logan's Vice President of Chiropractic Affairs, Clinic Director and Dean of Postgraduate Education. Dr. Goodman will end his educational career serving on the faculty for 44 years.
