Chiropractic World Series Challenge

Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland park Kansas, a baseball throw from the Kansas City Royals, challenged Palmer College West (located near the San Francisco Giants stadium) to a friendly World Series challenge.

Cleveland President Carl Cleveland III DC debuted a video on Facebook on October 20th, 2014 surrounded by chiropractic students sporting Kansas City Royals apparel and an abundance of enthusiasm. The Chiropractic World Series challenge is the brainchild of Cleveland Chiropractic College’s COO Jeff Karp, MBA. Mr. Karp created the event as an opportunity to engage the alumni, staff, and chiropractic students at CCC while raising funds for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress.

Next up to bat was Palmer College of Chiropractic President Bill Meeker, D.C., M.P.H. with a response video hours later on Facebook pointing out the Giants World series wins in 2010 and 2012, then detailing the cost of living in 1985 (the last time the Royals won a world series). This solidified the chiropractic World Series challenge and unleashed the on slot of social media discourse between the chiropractic colleges.

To solidify their commitment to the challenge each side searched through their roster for a heavy hitter. Palmer West called up Greg Shepard  Palmer West chiropractic student intern and former Chicago White Sox minor-league player to appear in their initial video. To cover all of their bases Cleveland posted a video from Cleveland Alumni President and Royal’s Chiropractic consultant Dr. Patrick Hammond.

The Chiropractic World Series Challenge:

?For every run the Giants score: Cleveland Alumni Association will donate $100 to Palmer West’s Student Council and Cleveland College will donate $100 to the F4CP
?For every run the Royals score: Palmer Alumni Association will donate $100 to Cleveland’s Student Council and Palmer Chiropractic College will donate $100 to the F4CP

?For each Game the Giants win: Cleveland Chiropractic College will send Palmer College of Chiropractic West a case of Kansas City Boulevard Beer and a case of Kansas City Barbeque Sauce.
?For Each Game the Royals win: Palmer West will send Cleveland College a case of fine California Wine.

This rivalry is turning into a battle of enthusiasm for baseball and chiropractic that you will not want to miss. As of the 5th game the Giants lead the World Series 3 games to 2. Palmer Alumni Association owes the Cleveland Student Chiropractic Council $1,500 and the Cleveland Alumni Association will be writing a check for at least $2,700 to the Palmer San Jose Chiropractic Student Council. The Foundation for chiropractic is already pledged a combined $4,200.

Rumors have been circulating the dugouts of each Chiropractic campus that the prevailing Chiropractic College may be graced with a hand delivery of promised local fare by the losing team’s president. Will Cleveland Chiropractic College need to purchase a few more wine glasses or will Palmer be firing up the grill for a Kansas City Style barbeque.
